Does my child need to complete an assessment before enrolling?

It depends on the programme.PLAY (2–4 years) and Minis (5–7 years) do not require an assessment. Players can enrol directly into these programmes, and we offer a free introductory session so your child can experience the environment before committing. It's a great opportunity to meet our coaches, take part in a session, and see if EVO is the right fit for your family.Academy players (8+ years) are required to attend a trial session before enrolling. This allows our coaching team to assess each player's current level, understand their development needs, and recommend the most appropriate programme and training group.The trial isn't about selecting only the "best" players, it's about ensuring every player is placed in an environment where they can develop most effectively.Following the assessment, our team will provide one of the following outcomes:An offer into the most suitable Academy programme.A recommendation for an alternative EVO pathway better suited to the player's current stage of development.Guidance on the next steps before joining in the future.This process helps ensure every player enters an environment where they can be challenged, supported and continue to improve.

How do I know which age group to select?

EVO groups players by their year of birth, in line with Football Australia and the broader Australian football system.When selecting a programme, simply choose the age group that corresponds with your child's birth year, rather than their current age. For example, a player may still be nine years old but belong in an Under 10 age group, depending on their year of birth.If you're unsure which age group your child belongs in, don't worry, our team will be happy to help before you book a trial or enrol.

Can beginners join EVO Football?

Yes.We work with players of all abilities, from those just starting their football journey through to advanced players pursuing elite pathways.For players aged 8+, our Academy includes a Development Programme, designed specifically for players who are newer to the game or still building their technical foundations. These players train in an environment that matches their current stage of development, allowing them to build confidence and improve at an appropriate pace.As players develop, they may be invited to progress into our Affiliate, Academy or High Performance pathways when they're ready.Our goal isn't simply to place players into the highest group, it's to place them in the right environment for long-term development. That's why all Academy players complete a trial, allowing our coaching team to recommend the pathway where they'll learn, enjoy their football, and continue to improve.

How much are the program fees?

Yes. EVO players players are required to wear the official EVO training kit to maintain a professional training environment and consistent presentation across all programmes.

Can my child attend a trial session before enrolling?

If a programme reaches capacity, players may be placed on a waiting list. We'll contact families as soon as a suitable position becomes available or discuss alternative training options where appropriate.

Can we change training days after enrolling?

Yes, provided suitable places are available within the requested training group. Please contact our administration team and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.

Can my child train at more than one EVO location?

Yes. Many players train across multiple EVO locations each week, depending on their programme and training schedule.Our team can help recommend the best combination of sessions for your child's development.

Question 16

What happens if my child misses a session?

Accepted Answer

If your child is unable to attend a session, please let us know as soon as possible so we can manage coaching ratios and session planning.Players may be eligible for up to three make-up sessions per calendar year for genuine absences, subject to availability and provided the absence has been communicated to our team.

Question 17

Are credits or make-up sessions available?

Yes.If your child misses a session for a valid reason, they may be eligible for a make-up session at another suitable EVO training group, up to a maximum of three make-up sessions per calendar year (subject to availability).If EVO cancels a scheduled session due to circumstances within our control, families will receive an account credit that can be applied towards a future session or enrolment.Refunds are not provided for missed sessions.

What happens if we withdraw during the term?

If you need to withdraw from the programme, please notify our administration team in writing as soon as possible.Withdrawals are managed in accordance with our Terms & Conditions.Where a player is unable to continue due to a long-term illness or injury, training fees may be placed on hold or refunded upon receipt of a valid medical certificate.

Are remaining term fees still payable after withdrawal?

In most circumstances, yes.However, where a withdrawal is due to a long-term illness or injury supported by a valid medical certificate, we may place future training fees on hold or provide a refund for the affected period, in accordance with our policies.Each request is assessed individually.

Which programme is best for developing players?

Every EVO programme is designed to support player development, but each serves a different purpose.The Development pathway is ideal for players early in the football journey who need to build confidence, technical ability and game understanding in a structured environment.As players improve, they may be invited into Affiliate, Academy or High Performance pathways, depending on their development, commitment and readiness.Our goal is not to move players through the pathways as quickly as possible, but to place them where they are most likely to develop.

What is an academy Train-On?

A Train-On offer is not a reflection of a player's potential or ability.Train-On players train within the Academy environment and receive the same coaching, curriculum and development opportunities as Academy players. Depending on the programme and player progression, Train-On players may also be invited to participate in Academy fixtures.A Train-On recommendation is typically made when our coaching team believes a player will benefit from spending more time in the EVO environment before committing to the Affiliate programme.Many players begin as Train-On or Development players before progressing into the Affiliate pathways as they continue to develop.

Some players also opt to do Train-On to continue with their grassroots club, and can't attend EVO more than once per week.

Can my child attend EVO while registered with another club?

Yes.Most EVO players continue playing and training with their local club while attending our programmes. EVO is designed to complement club football, while also providing a full-time pathway for players seeking a more comprehensive development environment.

How will we receive confirmation of enrolment?

What is the EVO Academy and how can I be selected for this?

Our Academy is a 30-week program made up of selected committed players from around Perth. The Academy runs in alignment with school terms 1, 2 & 3. In term 4 our Academy players progress into our immensely popular Off-Season: Evolution Premier League (EPL). We have been operating since 2018 but commenced our Academy in 2022 and we are becoming stronger each year.  The Academy is made up of three player categories:Academy Affiliate Player (Minimum commitment of 2 sessions  per week)Academy Train-On  (Minimum commitment of 1 session per week)Academy Development (Minimum commitment of 1 session per week)

Players have the option to take part in pitch and gym sessions available also. Players who are selected as Academy Affiliate Players play games every 3 weeks on a Friday night either against each other through an intra-academy format or against other clubs. 
Our Academy players compete in many matches across the year. In 2022 our Academy players played 36 matches totalling 2,070 minutes. Already, we have built on these number dramatically and most recently our players took part in 96 matches equalling 3,440 minutes played.

As of 2023 our players travel internationally / domestically each year!
We trial once per year for our Academy squads selections, with the trials for external players being held in the months of November / December. We allow players to still trial throughout the year for Academy train-on positions.

We aim to develop and promote from with in our train-on / development players prior to bringing external players in to our Academy squads however, we are always watching football and looking for players who will fit in to our squads and the evident style of our play.

You can express your interest anytime here however, please note each of our initial intake for squad selections is conducted in August-November for the following year.

What is the difference between Academy: Affiliate, Train-On & Development

So to support players in all realms of development we offer three tiers: Academy Affiliate: are players who are selected to be in our Academy squads. They play games with us every 3 weeks, train at a minimum twice per week and have priority to be given first pick to tours & tournaments (international / domestic). All Academy Players are given automatic places to our off-season: Evolution Premier League Academy Train-On: are players who are assessed to be competent to advanced in their development who either just missed out on our squad selections due to limited and competitive places available or have joined us later in the year once academy squads have been determined. Train-On players still train with Academy players and can be considered for promotion into squads as well as tours & tournaments.Academy Development: are players who are assessed to be at a lesser stage in their development who demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and improve. Academy development players do train at the same times as per academy players/train-on. What is EVO Minis and how can my child take part?

Our Minis program is a 40-week programme, that has a minimum of 10 week commitment that is made-up of young footballers  aged 4 - 7 years old. Our Minis platform does not require you to be 'selected', This program has been designed to welcome all young players to the game of football that addresses important areas relevant to their phase of development and more importantly teaches young footballers to foster a love for the game!

Minis players have the option to train 1 - 4 times per week!

What is the EVO kit and how do I get it?

All Academy players are required to wear the official EVO training kit. This helps create a professional environment, promotes a strong team culture, and ensures a consistent presentation across all programmes.Once your enrolment has been confirmed, you'll receive everything you need to order your kit, including sizing information and the relevant purchase links. Absolutely!Lots of our players join EVO while continuing to play and train with their local club team. How do I join? / What is the registration process?

Joining EVO is simple.Players aged 2–7 (PLAY & Minis) can attend a free session and then join into the programme, with no assessment required.Players aged 8+ begin by booking a trial session. This allows our coaching team to assess whether EVO is the right environment for the player and recommend the most suitable development pathway.To get started:Visit the relevant programme page on our website.Complete the trial booking form.You'll immediately see a confirmation message on-screen and receive an automated confirmation email (please check your junk/spam folder if it doesn't appear).We'll then be in touch with all the information you need, including training details and what to bring. Trial reminders are typically sent by SMS approximately 48 hours before the session.Following the trial, our coaching team will review the player's performance and, where appropriate, extend an invitation into the programme that best suits their current stage of development.Important: Please ensure your email address and mobile number are entered correctly, as we'll use these to send your booking confirmation and all future communication.

What is the makeup of each class and how many players per coach?

Our classes are designed to engage players of all ages and challenge them in a high quality, highly focused environment. Our sessions are always adjusted to benefit each individual so no player is ever training outside of their current level. We always adjust training groups based on individual development given each player is different and through our experience in this industry we assess accordingly.

What are your Camps?

Our camps are based in the school holidays bridging the gap between each of our Terms. Our camps exist for players aged 4 - 16, Male and Female! They are challenging but enjoyable days involving technical work and game play. It also serves as a great way to get to know our coaches and commence your work with FET as its not a huge initial commitment and allows our coaches to assess new players inside a new environment. How do I pay?

We offer a range of payment options to make enrolment as flexible as possible, including upfront and instalment plans.If paying upfront, payment can be made via EFT before the programme begins. Cash payments may also be accepted by prior arrangement.To secure your place, payment or commitment to an approved payment plan must be completed before the enrolment deadline. As places are limited and many programmes reach capacity, we cannot hold positions or allow players to participate until enrolment has been finalised.If a player does not attend their first session and we have not received payment or prior communication, their place may be offered to another player on the waiting list.This ensures we can provide fair access to families and maintain efficient programme planning.
